1789. The Third Estate by 490 votes against 90 decides to constitute itself as a National Assembly. Soon joined by the Clergy and the Nobility, it will be the first modern parliamentary assembly in the history of France.

1953. East Berlin is shaken by a revolt of the workers who demand decent working conditions. The movement was quickly crushed by the Soviet army.

1972. In Washington, at the headquarters of the Democratic Party, five individuals setting up microphones are apprehended by the police. This is the beginning of the case of Watergate, which will lead to the resignation of President Nixon two years later.
