New book: My testimony to the world (Jean Karski)

New book: My testimony to the world (Jean Karski)

In the wake of the recent (and moderately interesting) controversy which opposed the director Claude Lanzman (*) to the writer Yannick Haenel, the Robert Laffont editions have conveniently just re-edited the precious work of Jean Karski: "My testimony in front of the world ", published in 1948. Polish resistance during the Second World War, Jean Karski was a witness to the fate reserved for the Jews in the Warsaw ghetto, and the first to try to alert world opinion"carrying a message too heavy for a single man: the Jewish people are disappearing, exterminated by the Nazis"... In his action to stop The Shoah, he will run up against the skepticism of Western leaders, who will find it hard to believe his story. The book he will publish after the war is an exceptional testimony. Jean karski, my testimony to the world, Editions Robert Laffont, March 2010.

(*) Arte will rebroadcast on Wednesday March 17 "The Karski Report" by Claude Lanzman.
